B-I-N-G-O! A Game-Changing Approach to Achieving Your 2025 Goals
Let me start by saying: I am the type of person who loves a challenge or a goal to work toward. I struggle to stay motivated to do things I know are good for me unless I have a clear target in mind, a tracker I don’t want to skip, or a chain I’m determined not to break.
Also, I absolutely love a pretty chart to write things down or track my progress. And if I get to color-code? Forget it—I’m all in!
I started my list-making and goal-setting journey almost a decade ago. Over the years, I’ve picked up a variety of techniques from listening to podcasts and reading blogs. For the last few years, I’ve been following Gretchen Rubin’s "23 in 23" or "24 in 24" lists. I even tried bullet journaling once, but I’m not that committed—and definitely not that artistic.
Then, the other day, I saw a reel on Instagram. (Sorry, I didn’t save it, so I can’t credit the original poster.) In the reel, a woman explained how she had seen someone turn their goals into a game—specifically, bingo. I thought this was genius! While I personally love lists and checking things off, most people don’t feel the same way. Turning goals into a game adds a whimsical, fun element that appeals to so many people.
Then it hit me: a bingo card has 25 squares, and we’re heading into 2025. It felt like destiny.
But, of course, I couldn’t leave it at just bingo. I needed some structure. My goals can’t just be scattered all over the place; they need categories. Over the years, I’ve organized my goals around key areas of life, like home, health, and work. This time, I decided to let the letters in "BINGO" guide my categories:
B: Business and Career
This category includes goals related to work, whether you’re an employee, an entrepreneur, or both. It could involve starting a side hustle, aiming for a promotion, or setting up systems to better manage your time. Whatever your career ambitions, this is where they go.
I: Interpersonal Relationships
This category isn’t just about romantic relationships—it’s also about friendships, family, and community connections. Examples include scheduling regular date nights, joining a book club, or reaching out to reconnect with an old friend.
N: Nutrition and Health
I know this can be a challenging area for many women. Society’s expectations often weigh us down. It took me years to reframe how I approach health. After listening to a Rachel Hollis podcast a few years ago, I began focusing on adding instead of subtracting. Whether it’s drinking more water, increasing my daily steps, or practicing mindfulness, I’ve learned to view health as a form of self-care rather than a punishment. And let’s not forget—health includes mental health too! One of the best things I’ve added to my life that boosts both my mental and physical health? Taking yearly Momcations. (Hint, hint: check out my blog post on why Momcations are essential.)
G: Grand Dreams
These are the big, lofty goals that may overlap with other categories. Think of things like writing a book, traveling to a dream destination, or starting a passion project. Grand dreams remind us to think big and reach for more.
O: Others and Extras
This category is for smaller goals that aren’t life-changing but still bring joy or satisfaction. For instance, finally making a recipe you saved on Pinterest or committing to read the books you already own before buying new ones. These are fun, low-pressure items that add a little extra to your year.
I keep my goals list in the front cover of my journal so I see it every morning, but I know not everyone journals like I do. That’s why I created a bingo card template you can print and fill out yourself. Hang it up as a visual reminder, and enjoy the satisfaction of checking off the boxes as you complete your goals.
Oh, and if you’re wondering what to put in the free space? I’ve included my personal suggestion for this year: Book a Momcation! (It’s self-care at its finest.)
Here’s to making 2025 a year of fun, growth, and colorful bingo-card success!
QUESTION: What’s one goal you are going to add to your bingo card?
Until next time, here’s to making time for yourself - you deserve it!
